What do other swimmers say?
I swim in open water (rivers and lakes in my landlocked country, the sea abroad). I use the buoy to be visible to ships and to take my clothes and bag with me wherever I swim (typically across a body of water in the middle of a hike or to just chill on an island). The largest Ultra Drybag Buoy is really spacious. It can easily fit all I need for the day and then some, expanding my hiking routes while helping to keep me safe from boat traffic!
I swim in the sea all the time. I use the dry bag buoy to move from one bay to another on the islands. The convenience and quality of the product are what I appreciate most.
Swimming in France and Greece, I use it for swim trekking along the coast. It is great to have the possibility to carry shoes, towel, t-shirt, water and snacks.
The 360swim Buoy was the first I ever used and it will be the only one I'll ever use. I do not care for the cheap alternatives, I stick to the original. Replaced one after many years of use, they really last. If you regularly train in open water, there is only one sensible option - take this with you! Always! Period. It's great once you get used to it, it has storage, it increases safety and is a nice hold-on between intervals or when a cramp or exhaustion sets in. I wouldn't wanna miss it on any of my open water swims!
I mainly swim year-round at Lake Annecy, minimum twice a week. I have a small waterproof pouch where I put my ID, keys and phone inside my buoy. In summer I can fit a pair of flip flops and clothes for swimtrekking. I really appreciate its lightness with its large volume capacity. Although I use my buoy intensively, it eventually developed leaks, which I greatly regret, as of all the models I've tried it is the most solid, easy to use and lightweight for swimming.
Sea, lakes, rivers. I use the buoy mainly to store things that I can't leave on shore and also to be visible.
